As some of you already know,
the recent months have brought some unexpected detours and challenges that forced me to make a pause in my art production.
Taking care of my life partner 7/7 as he has lost his autonomy for about 3 months in such a shocking way, has also changed our outlook on life forever. But, happily for both of us, we are natural born peace warriors and always share and have the instinct to take the best part of everything. He’s doing great now and so I am, then I have the space to resume on that transitional path started at the beginning of 2017.
I entered a transition last year when I started to feel trapped in my own production. I’ve always been passionate about visual arts in any of its forms from traditional to contemporary, and having explored more fields of visual expression than solely painting, the questioning then started to grow, bringing that seductive mix of anxiety and excitement inherent to any creative endeavour.
That uncomfortable burning feeling was the answer I needed to rediscover. I could add more, but I’m a visual artist, not a writer,
so let’s see where all of this will lead me to in 2018!
Here's the link to a new page on this site (also via the menu bar): New Small Work
where I will post new small oil paintings along with drawings, watercolors and mixed media works as they become available.
While this year I aim to produce larger pieces for galleries, I’m thrilled to share and offer more affordable art directly from the site.
Until April 2018 you can also get 20% up to 30% of reduction from my retail pricings for these artworks.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Thank you for your interest and support.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
For those who are not on Facebook, I want to inform you that something bad has happened to my partner in life last September, hence I’ve been quiet on this blog for quite some time now.
Without entering into the details regarding the event, I had to make a pause on my production in order to be with him.
More than two months later, Michel having regained a large part of his autonomy,
I can go back to the studio and resume where everything stopped.
I’m currently finishing a project from last summer and have also started two new small format series.
The first is an oil-on-panel series and the second is planned to be an exploration integrating drawing, watercolor and acrylic on polyester film.
In parallel, I’ll continue my research and experiments that will be shared regularly on my new Tumblr: related matter. Here’s the link: https://pierreraby-relatedmatter.tumblr.com/
To be continued…
Have a nice weekend everyone!
